Playground

The Mill Bank playground and playing field offers a variety of different equipment suitable for children aged 0-14 years old. The playground is located within the grounds of St. Mary’s School but it is open to the public.

All villagers and local residents are welcome and encouraged to play in the playground. Play equipment includes:

  • Swings (including baby swings)
  • Slide
  • Zip wire
  • Spinning top
  • Tyre ropes
  • Hammock
  • Stepping stones
  • Sand pit
  • Basketball hoop.

The Mill Bank Group works in partnership with Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council to maintain the grounds. The play equipment is regularly inspected and risk assessments are completed by the council.

In recent years, due to general wear and tear, some of the play equipment began to look dilapidated and required attention. In 2019 the Mill Bank Group acquired additional grant funding to secure new play equipment for the playground.

Volunteers and villagers in Mill Bank kindly donate their time to maintain the playing field and keep it safe for everyone to enjoy.
